7th Annual Southeast Women's Herbal Conference October 14-16, 2011 Women from across the Southeast will gather at the 7th annual Southeast Womens Herbal Conference on October 14-16, 2011 at Lake Eden in scenic Black Mountain, NC. With over 70 classes by more than 30 teachers, the weekend focuses on herbal education, nourishing foods, empowerment, spirituality, sexuality, as well as movement and song. The conference, which has grown to over 800 participants over the last six years, will offer a limited number of Nourishing Traditions Meal Tickets: a farm-fresh, local, seasonal menu with a focus on meat, dairy, and veggies. Workshops range from beginner to advanced and cover topics such as herb walks, nutrient-dense foods, everyday first aid, immune system herbs, essential fatty acids, Cherokee herbal medicine, herbal pestos, seaweeds, herbal soups, drumming, developing intuition, self-love, and more. The weekend is designed for women to learn, connect, and deepen into the Wise Woman Tradition, which organizers describe as earth-based healing, local wisdom, deep nourishment. From one 2010 participant: "This conference brought me back to a sacred place that is lost to me in modern society. Having a circle of wise women to come back to each year gives me hope for humans. www.sewisewomen.comÂ
