Continuing Education Units for Health Professionals (CEUs)

Listed below is information for those interested in attending the conference for professional education credit.  Please note we have requested approval for LAc, RN and RD are covered.  Nutritionists need only the $5 Certificate of Attendance.  If your profession is not listed, please check with your professional board to see if they will accept the Certificate of Attendance.  The list will be updated as approvals are received. Fees
The fees for CEUs is $25 per day (5 credits each day) or $65 for all three days (15 credits).  Many conferences do not charge extra because the fees are built into the registration fees.  In an effort to keep our registration fees low, we do not charge everyone but charge the individuals using this service.  

Approving Organizations

•    Registered Dietitians (RD) and Dietetic Technicians, Registered (DTR): Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR): Approved for CPE Level 1.  15 credit hours.  See:  http://www.cdrnet.org/applications/cpe/viewprogdetails.cfm?ProgramID=101025&CFID=4922962&CFToken=38601648

•    Nursing: Approved by the Maryland Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation (ANCC), all states accept this. 15.3 credit hours.
•    Acupuncture: APPROVED by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM): 15 PDA points for full conference (PDA points are accepted by all states except California)

NOTE regarding Nutritionists:
•    Nutritionists: No CEUs required.  Certificate of Attendance required - $5 fee.  Request one when you register.  National Association of Nutrition Professionals (NANP) for Category II CEUs, CHEK Institute, Nutritional Therapy Association (NTA) and American College of Nutrition. (15 credit hours for full registration.)

NOTE regarding Chiropractors
•    Chiropractors (DCs): Sought approval from the Texas Chiropractic College.  But the paperwork required is so involved that it is unreasonable for us to do it.  It would be a burden on our speakers.  Next year we will check with another school.   You might see if your state board will accept a Certificate of Attendance.

The Weston A. Price Foundation invites submission of abstracts from all health professionals on a broad range of topics relating food and nutrition to health demonstrating the integration of practice, education and scholarship. Specific topics include but are not limited to incorporating nutrition into your practice, results of nutritional interventions you have made with a specific patient population or patient teaching projects involving nutrition.  All posters must represent your original work.

Poster Presentation:  Abstracts selected for poster presentations will be displayed throughout the conference.  Poster presentations should be self-contained tabletop displays.  Please purchase tri-fold posters that stand upright on tables without additional support.  Successful poster presentations include large posters will clear, colorful graphics and text clearly describing the methods, programs or practices pertaining to the theme of your presentation.  Handouts describing your presentation, reference materials and your business card may be distributed.  No other information including books or products for sale may be displayed or promoted in any way at your poster display.
