Dr. Von Kiel’s dual clinical experience is rather unique in providing insights from both natural health care and conventional institutional care perspectives on causes of degenerative disease and on ways to regain and maintain health. This fascinating device works with the technology of Kirlian photography, and by taking a detailed image of each fingertip, it creates an image of the energy fields of the entire body (since all the meridians end in the fingertips, they represent the entire body). This allows diagnosis of not only physical conditions, but the underlying emotions and thought patterns as well.

EcoVersity in Santa Fe, New Mexico is now accepting applications for its Certificate for Earth-Based Vocations Program starting August 28, 2004. This 20-week, comprehensive, hands-on curriculum including hand-on projects, group design exercises and field trips is designed for anyone wanting to join the fast growing field of professionals who are developing whole system approaches for the design of human environments. The core teaching team is comprised of working professionals: Bristol Stickney (renewable energy), Joel Glanzberg (permaculture), Chrissie Orr (community arts and activism), Scott Pittman (permaculture) and Alfred von Bachmayr (natural building and architecture) and many other guest instructors from the private and non-profit sectors. This program appeals to a wide variety of students including those seeking to build homesteads or farms, those seeking vocational skills and professional contacts, and those wanting to dream up the new careers that will address complex issues we face today. Graduates will leave with livelihood skills for living on the land, working with earth-based enterprises, regenerating the earth and revitalizing the spirit. When Margaret Carlston drove 500 head of cattle across miles of unfenced land from Canada into Montana in 1903, she was providing the best known red meat of her day. Gaining the title “Cattle Queen of Montana”, she earned the respect of ranchers and politicians alike, raising and marketing top quality beef. Named after her great-grandmother, Kathy Margaret Carlston Lindner and her husband, Ken, raise top-quality grassfed bison. Bison is the only roaming animal indigenous to North America. While slow and docile in appearance, they can outrun and outmaneuver most horses, with their natural agility and ability to pivot on both front and hind feet. Their lifespan may extend to 30 years or more. In addition to bringing a delicious dish to share with us, Kathy and Ken will talk about grass farming and about the bison themselves!

Tim Boyd was born and raised in Ohio, graduated from Case Western Reserve University with a degree in computer engineering, and worked in the defense industry in Northern Virginia for over 20 years. During that time, a slight case of arthritis led him to discover that nutrition makes a difference and nutrition became a serious hobby. After a pleasant and satisfying run in the electronics field, he decided he wanted to do something more important. He is now arthritis free and enjoying his dream job working for the Weston A. Price Foundation.
