Title
Jordan Pratt, fourth child of Ben and Rachael Pratt, was born at nine
pounds, more than a pound heavier than his older siblings. Pictured
here with his older sister Erin, Jordan is a champion breastfeeder,
holding his head up at four weeks old and sleeping seven to eight hours
each night. His parents credit a nutrient-dense traditional diet, with
special emphasis on plenty of raw milk, during pregnancy and lactation
for Jordan’s good start in life.
Jessica Youngblood, now nine months old, is thriving on a diet of homemade
formula, pastured eggs, chicken liver, yams with lots of butter, organic
apple sauce and chicken broth. Says her proud grandmother: she is just
beautiful, very sweet, calm and so smart!
Aiden Thomas Goltes is reaping the benefits of mom’s healthy breastmilk.
Although born with a congenital heart problem that required surgery
at two months of age, Aiden is now a healthy, active nine-month-old
weighing 22 pounds. His mother Sascha consumes raw dairy, local venison,
fresh fish cod liver oil and high-vitamin butter oil. Demitri and Moses
McGuirk, now recovered from tooth decay and frequent colds with a nutrient-dense
traditional diet. Read their story in page 6.
Michaela Stuart “survived off raw milk” during a nauseous
first few months of pregnancy, then stuck with a nutrientdense diet.
Baby Elijah was able to pick his head up and gain eye contact immediately
after birth. Now over four months, he enjoys his egg yolk and cod liver
oil in addition to mom’s milk. Elijah has a calm disposition,
is alert and is as round as can be. He consistently sleeps 10-12 hours
per night.
Healthy, happy Ryan Michael Kennedy, (right) son of WAPF raw milk attorney
Pete Kennedy, is thriving on mom’s breast milk and a nourishing
traditional diet.
PLEASE NOTE: In the winter issue of Wise Traditions, we will introduce
a new photo section to honor Raw Milk Grannies, those grandmothers (and
grandfathers!) who bring raw milk to their grandchildren on a regular
basis. Please submit your photos to Liz Pitfield at liz@westonaprice.org.
Baby photos should also be submitted to Liz. Be sure to label photographs
with the full name of the person photographed.
