Tilling the Soil of OpportunityA Business Planning Course Using NxLeveL Agricultural Entrepreneurship CurriculumIn three sessions: March 8 & 9, 2005 At Cornell Cooperative Extension Dutchess County About the course Tilling the Soil of Opportunity is a business training course using NxLeveL curriculum. Each attendee will leave the course with a comprehensive business plan to act as a blueprint for future growth. At each session, guest speakers such as small business attorneys, bankers, insurance agents, marketing consultants, and successful entrepreneurs, all with experience in serving the farming community, will be available for consultation. Who Should AttendThis course is for Agricultural Entrepreneurs who have started or are thinking of starting or expanding an agricultural based venture. The materials are specifically designed for people who are searching for innovative ideas and enhanced marketing opportunities in the area of value-added agriculture. About NxLeveLThe NxLeveL Agricultural Entrepreneurial Training Program was developed by the Western Entrepreneurial Network at the University of Colorado at Denver under a grant from the US WEST Foundation. The sessionsEach 2-day session will cover several topics. The sessions build on each other, so attendance at all sessions is mandatory. Guest speakers and instructors will be available after class for consultation. Attendance at the 3 hours of consultation on Day 1 of each session is mandatory. Attendance at the 3 hours of consultation on Day 2 of each session is optional. Cost of the CourseCost of participation is $250 per registrant. Spouses and partners
are encouraged to attend at a reduced rate of $175. This fee includes
books, 3 dinners, and 3 breakfasts. Lodging is not included. Day 1 of each session begins at 12:00 p.m. and ends at 9:00 p.m. Dinner
