Urgent Action Alert
Anti-NAIS Bill HB1990 Threatened
CALL IMMEDIATELY
VDACS is (apparently) telling legislators on the subcommittee that Del.
Rob Wittman's bill, HB1990 will destroy Virginia agriculture, and the
legislators are believing this. We face the possibility of the bill
being amended to give VDACS what they want and our losing everything
we have worked for.
CALL THE SUBCOMMITTEE MEMBERS BELOW IMMEDIATELY
They are the members who support us the most.
ACTIONS
1. Call the members of the House Ag. Sub-Committee below to SUPPORT
anti-NAIS bill HB1990 with language to specifically PROHIBIT MANDATORY
ANIMAL ID, in those words.
2. Come to Richmond to the public hearing on the bill, Tuesday, Jan.
23, at 3:00, and speak (or just come). (Hearing begins at 3:00, sludge
bill goes first, followed by the anti-NAIS bill). Sign-up for speaking
begins at 2:00.
HEARING LOCATION: Patrick Henry Building (2 doors down from General
Assembly building), Room 1 (Directions to Gen. Assembly building on
http://www.vicfa.net)
They might not get email in time, PLEASE CALL!!!
Message:
I support Del. Wittman's bill, HB1990, with language to PROHIBIT A MANDATORY
National, or State, Animal Identification System. I do not support changing
the bill to authorize a "Voluntary System."
