Deidre Currie

Healthy Traditions Network and the Weston A. Price Foundation Community are sad to announce that Deidre Currie recently passed away. Deidre Currie was a devoted Weston A. Price Chapter Leader in Michigan and also in her homeland of New Zealand/Australia.

Dee's husband, Archie Welch, has been involved with Healthy Traditions Network for many years and we send our deepest sympathies to him and to Dee's family.

Dee passed away from a pulmonary embolism while giving birth to her son. The baby is doing well, but is still in the hospital's NICU unit.

Visitation/Family Support will be on Friday, January 11, 2008 from 3 pm till 9 pm at the Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Saturday, January 12, 2008 at 12:30 pm at the Funeral Home. Further information can be found at the Wint website above.

Healthy Traditions Network is helping to organize a "Nourishing Traditions" luncheon following the service. Contact Dawn Divitto if you can help with food for this. We are specifically looking for salad and vegetables for the luncheon. You can contact Dawn at or (248) 361-1443.

We are heartbroken to have lost such a vibrant person who passionately taught and lived her life following the principles of the Weston A. Price Foundation. The
Weston A. Price Foundation will be setting up the "Deidre Currie Memorial
Scholarship Fund" to support international students that need financial assistance to attend the annual WAPF conference. This will honor Deidre's work as a WAPF Chapter Leader, and the fact that she and Archie met at the WAPF conference years ago.
