Click here to see press release: Nutrition Foundation Releases Alternative Dietary Guidelines Researchers Expose Flaws in USDA Dietary Guidelines Nutrition Educators Return to Four Basic Food Groups WHAT: The USDA Dietary Guidelines for 2010 perpetuate the mistakes of previous guidelines, continuing to promote a diet low in fat and high in processed grain and cereal products, which experts agree has contributed significantly to our current obesity and health crisis. Furthermore, government policy continues to disregard the success of millions of people who have lost weight and improved their health by increasing dietary fat and eliminating processed carbohydrate foods. The 2010 USDA Dietary Guidelines Committee ignored scientific research that validates low-carb diets for weight loss and improved health Since the early 1980s, the USDA Guidelines have given Americans the green light to consume empty carbohydrate foods and made them afraid to eat natural nutrient-dense foods  such as whole milk, cheese, red meat, eggs, salt, butter and full-fat yogurt. The result? A growing reliance on fake meat, vegetable oils, margarine, shortening, packaged mixes, boxed cereals and skimmed dairy along with increased deficiencies in key nutrients such as vitamins D and B12. Concerned scientists, nutrition researchers and health professionals are now speaking out on the flawed analysis, the ignored research, and the weak foundation of the UDSA Guidelines and Food Pyramid. Healthy 4 Life, an alternative dietary plan proposed by the Weston A. Price Foundation, a nutrition education non-profit, will be released at a Press Conference at the National Press Club on Monday, February 14, 2011 at 9:00am EST.
