Hawaii legislators have introduced a bill requesting a Department of Health study permitting minor children 16 years old & older to consent to vaccines without parental consent.
The Weston A. Price Foundation (WAPF) opposes HR 50 because it is the first step in allowing children to consent to a pharmaceutical product that carries risks of injury and even death.
We believe that vaccination decisions should rest with the minor’s parent, who is most familiar with the child’s medical history, family medical background, potential contraindications, and any religious or conscientious objections.
If Hawaii permits minors to receive vaccinations without parental consent, vaccination opportunities will likely be provided at schools and other easily accessible locations.
This could raise concerns about potential coercion, particularly regarding vaccines such as those for HPV and Covid-19.
HR 50 was referred to the House Health & Homelessness Committee and the House Finance Committee on 3/8/2024.

“My name is ____, and I live in (town). I am calling to ask Representative ____ to oppose HB 50.
This bill undermines parental rights by supporting a study to allow minors as young as sixteen to receive vaccinations without parental consent or knowledge despite the inherent risks associated with vaccines.
As recognized by the U.S. Supreme Court, vaccines are pharmaceutical products that carry the risk of injury or death. It is irresponsible to allow minors the ability to consent to vaccines without parental approval.
Similar to a minor’s inability to consent to other hazardous activities like purchasing tobacco, firearms, or alcohol, granting consent for a vaccine with comparable risks of harm or fatality should also be restricted.
Minors lack the capacity to conduct a comprehensive risk-benefit analysis before agreeing to vaccination.
I urge Representative _____to OPPOSE HB 50, which would put minors in danger.”
TALKING POINTS:
Keep your call or email short! Pick the 2 or 3 of these talking points – or none of them — that are most important to you, and be sure to explain why this issue matters to you personally.
- A child may not know their personal or family medical history, including vaccine reactions, allergies, and autoimmune or neurological disorders, all of which contribute to the chances that they may have a serious reaction to a vaccine.
- Children do not have the same critical thinking skills or emotional maturity as adults to make a vaccine benefit-risk decision. Additionally, children and adolescents are vulnerable to authority-figure persuasion.
- If a child consents to vaccination without their parent knowing and has a reaction, the parent may not recognize the reason for their child’s decline in health, and this lack of knowledge could be life-threatening for the child.
- No one knows in advance whom a vaccine will harm. Each of us may respond differently as we have different medical histories, genes, epigenetics, and microbiomes.
- Many young people have died or become severely injured after receiving HPV vaccines. Allowing minors to consent to these vaccines is dangerous and irresponsible.
- HPV vaccines have the potential to trigger life-disabling autoimmune conditions and were shown in a study to likely cause primary ovarian failure. [Colafrancesco, S., Perricone, C., et al. - In 2014, the FDA approved a new HPV vaccine (Gardasil 9) containing more than twice as much Aluminum (a known neurotoxin, now approx. 500 mcg per 0.5-mL dose) as the previous vaccine despite there being over 1,600 scientific documents and peer-reviewed published papers confirming the dangers of aluminum toxicity to humans. http://www.naturalhealth365.com/hpv-vaccine-side-effects-1752.html

- Covid shot manufacturers and providers are shielded from liability through the Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness Act, or PREP Act. The only option for compensating people injured by COVID-19 vaccines is the Countermeasures Injury Compensation Program (CICP). Only eight percent of all petitioners since 2010 have been awarded compensation through the CICP. No legal or medical expert fees are covered, no pain and suffering is awarded, lost wages are capped at $50,000 per year, and there is no judicial appeal. In other words, the victims will be severely under-compensated while the pharmaceutical companies get rich.
