Ohio legislators are considering a good bill to protect healthcare professionals from censorship and retaliation when they express medical opinions that differ from official health authority narratives.
House Bill 12 ensures doctors, nurses, and pharmacists can speak openly about the risks and benefits of medical interventions, including vaccines, without fear of losing their licenses or facing penalties.
This important bill safeguards informed consent—a fundamental medical right—by allowing healthcare providers to share comprehensive information with patients.
HB 12 does NOT shield providers from liability for actual patient harm—it simply prevents regulatory boards from punishing them for professional opinions on treatment options.
The WAPF does not take a position on parts of the bill that do not cover free speech for health professionals.
Let’s stand together for medical freedom and transparency in healthcare!

SAMPLE SCRIPT
“My name is ____, and I live in (town). I am asking Representative ____ to support HB 12, which protects healthcare providers from censorship and retaliation for expressing medical opinions that may differ from health authorities.
This bill is critical because it allows patients to hear a full range of medical perspectives before making healthcare decisions. Without this, individuals may only receive one-sided information that aligns with regulatory agencies, limiting their ability to make fully informed choices.
Ohioans deserve access to complete medical information without fear of censorship or professional retaliation against providers.
Please support HB 12 to protect medical free speech and informed consent. I appreciate your leadership on this important issue.”
TALKING POINTS
Keep your call or email short! Pick the 2 or 3 of these talking points – or none of them- that are most important to you, and be sure to explain why this issue matters to you personally.
- Without free speech protections, patients may only receive one-sided information that aligns with regulatory agencies, limiting their ability to make fully informed choices.
- Many highly qualified doctors were blacklisted and fired for speaking out about the dangers Covid injections. We must ensure that health professionals can speak freely so that patients receive the best possible care.
- Science evolves through open discussion and debate. If healthcare providers are punished for questioning official narratives, medical progress is stifled and patients ultimately suffer.
- One of the most basic human rights is that of bodily autonomy, as recognized by the Nuremberg Code. Ethical medicine requires prior, completely voluntary, and fully informed consent.
- No one knows in advance whom a vaccine will harm. Each of us may respond differently as we have different medical histories, genes, epigenetics, and microbiomes.
- Vaccines are medical procedures that carry the risk of serious injury. The U.S. Supreme Court recognizes vaccines to be “unavoidably unsafe” and to cause injury and death to some recipients. The U.S. Government has paid out more than $5 billion to the victims of vaccine injury. https://www.cdc.gov/vaccine-safety-systems/vaers/?CDC_AAref_Val=https://www.cdc.gov/vaccinesafety/ensuringsafety/monitoring/vaers/
- Vaccines have no long-term studies on their safety, genotoxicity, carcinogenicity, or effect on reproduction.
- Vaccine manufacturers such as Pfizer, Merck, and GlaxoSmithKline have paid billions of dollars in criminal penalties and settlements for research fraud, faking drug safety studies, failing to report safety problems, bribery, kickbacks, and false advertising [1,2]. Pfizer paid $2.3 billion in 2009 alone to resolve criminal and civil allegations [3].
