Arizona lawmakers have introduced a crucial bill that ensures parents are fully informed of their right to obtain vaccine exemptions for school attendance.
HB 2063 requires all public schools to include information on vaccine exemption options in any communication about school immunization requirements. This guarantees that parents, guardians, and caregivers receive clear and accurate details about their legal right to opt out of vaccines for medical, religious, or personal reasons, as provided by Arizona law.
This bill does not create new exemptions—it simply ensures that existing rights are fully disclosed. Currently, schools are required to communicate vaccine requirements, but they are not required to inform families of exemption options. HB 2063 passed the House’s third reading on 2/25/2025. The bill is sponsored by Representative Lisa Fink and still needs strong public support!
