Your IMMEDIATE action is needed to prevent Senator Jay Costa’s dangerous bill, SB 633, from moving forward!
Known as the “Public Health Emergency Act,” SB 633 grants health officials and public health workers both authority and complete immunity to “administer …prophylaxis or treatment for a reportable disease or condition as necessary to prevent and control the spread of disease or condition.”
SB 633 opens the door to forced vaccination with fast-tracked, potentially harmful, liability-free vaccines. The bill does not limit the “as necessary” provision, nor specify that the treatment must be for the disease that has caused the emergency.
During animal testing, previous attempts to develop a vaccine for coronaviruses (SARS 3 and MERS 4) revealed problems, including liver and lung reactions. Some of the animal trials indicated that the vaccine could actually cause the disease to be more severe if the animal was exposed to the virus after the vaccine antibody titers declined. Regardless of the serious nature of the current coronavirus, or any other future outbreaks, the state needs to address public health concerns and protect bodily autonomy. Self-quarantine or isolation must be provided as an option to any potentially harmful vaccination program.
Since 1681, Pennsylvanians have valued their civil liberties. We need to be careful about creating additional government authority that will remain long after COVID-19 fades.
TAKE ACTION:
Contact your Pennsylvania State Senators and ask them to oppose SB 633.
You can look up who represents you here: https://www.pasen.gov
(Remember to call your State Representative, not U.S. House)
Calls have a greater impact than emails, and take only a couple of minutes!
Sample script:
“Hi, my name is ____, and I am a constituent. I am calling to urge Senator___ to OPPOSE SB 633.
This “Public Health Emergency Act” enables the state to take extreme measures, including forced vaccination, to control an outbreak.
Though our nation is in the midst of a Coronavirus outbreak, quarantine should always be an option. Previous coronavirus vaccines have caused serious health problems and increased susceptibility to the viruses in animals.
Civil liberties and bodily autonomy must be protected in Pennsylvania.
Can you let me know where Senator ___ stands on SB 633? You can email me at ____ or call me back at ____.”
TALKING POINTS
- All people should have the right to make their own decisions regarding any medical intervention.
- Vaccines are a medical procedure that carry a risk of serious injury. The US Supreme Court recognizes vaccines to be “unavoidably unsafe” and to cause injury and death in some recipients. The US Government has paid out more that $4 billion to the victims of vaccine injury. Hundreds of thousands have reported an adverse reaction to vaccination to VAERS. http://www.cdc.gov/vaccinesafety/ensuringsafety/monitoring/vaers/
- Pennsylvania currently has 74 “reportable diseases,” with some being generally benign. This bill has NO restrictions on the “as necessary” provision. Without safeguards, there is nothing to prevent the state from vaccinating without consent.
- Extremely troubling findings during animal testing halted previous attempts to develop a vaccine for other dangerous coronaviruses (SARS3and MERS4). Problems included liver and lung reactions and, astonishingly, increased susceptibility to the virus. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4550498/, https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22536382/, https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/27269431
Remember, your involvement and activism works!
