Iowa legislators have introduced a good bill that would protect minors in regard to certain vaccines.
SF 2064 amends Iowa Code 139A.35 related to minors and adds the exception of the provision of a vaccination for a sexually transmitted disease (STD) or infection from the existing code.
This section of the existing code allows a minor to have the legal capacity to act and give consent to medical care or services for the prevention, diagnosis, or treatment of an STD or infection by a hospital, clinic, or health care provider.
SF 2064 safeguards minors from providing consent to receive a vaccine known to potentially induce illness, disability, injury, or adverse conditions, as outlined in the Vaccine Injury Table document containing petitions filed under the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program.

“My name is ____, and I live in (town). I am calling to ask Senator (or Representative) ____ to support S.F. 2064, which would protect minors by ensuring that they cannot consent to a vaccine to prevent a sexually transmitted disease.
As recognized by the U.S. Supreme Court, vaccines are pharmaceutical products that carry the risk of injury or death. It is irresponsible to allow minors the ability to consent to vaccines without parental approval.
Similar to a minor’s inability to consent to other hazardous activities like purchasing tobacco, firearms, or alcohol, granting consent for a vaccine with comparable risks of harm or fatality should also be restricted.
Legislation aimed at protecting minors is warranted, recognizing their potential lack of capacity to conduct a comprehensive risk-benefit analysis before agreeing to vaccination.
I urge Senator (or Representative) _____to SUPPORT S.F. 2064, which would protect both minors and parents.”
TALKING POINTS:

- A child may not know their personal or family medical history, including vaccine reactions, allergies, and autoimmune or neurological disorders, all of which contribute to the chances that they may have a serious reaction to a vaccine.
- Children do not have the same kind of critical thinking skills or emotional maturity to make a vaccine benefit-risk decision as adults. Additionally, children and adolescents are vulnerable to authority-figure persuasion.
- If a child consents to vaccination without their parent knowing and has a reaction, the parent may not recognize the reason for their child’s decline in health, and this lack of knowledge could be life-threatening for the child.
- No one knows in advance whom a vaccine will harm. Each of us may respond differently as we have different medical histories, genes, epigenetics, and microbiomes.
- Many young people have died or become severely injured after receiving HPV vaccines. Allowing minors to consent to these vaccines is dangerous and irresponsible.
- HPV vaccines have the potential to trigger life-disabling autoimmune conditions and were shown in a study to likely cause primary ovarian failure. [Colafrancesco, S., Perricone, C., et al. - In 2014 the FDA approved a new HPV vaccine (Gardasil 9) containing more than twice as much Aluminum (a known neurotoxin, now approx. 500 mcg per 0.5-mL dose) as the previous vaccine despite there being over 1,600 scientific documents and peer-reviewed published papers confirming the dangers of aluminum toxicity to humans. http://www.naturalhealth365.com/hpv-vaccine-side-effects-1752.html

- Vaccine manufacturers such as Pfizer, Merck, and GlaxoSmithKline have paid billions of dollars in criminal penalties and settlements for research fraud, faking drug safety studies, failing to report safety problems, bribery, kickbacks, and false advertising [1,2]. Pfizer paid $2.3 billion in 2009 alone to resolve criminal and civil allegations [3].
