Support A Good Vaccine Bill In Ohio!

Ohio legislators have introduced a good bill that would prohibit discrimination for refusing medical interventions, including vaccines for reasons of conscience or religious convictions.

HB 319, known as the “Conscious Right to Refuse Act,” would apply to a business, employer, including an administrator or supervisor, health plan issuer, health care provider, hospital, institution, nursing home, person, political subdivision, private college, public official, residential care facility, state agency, or state institution of higher education. 

These entities would not be able to do any of the following based on an individual’s refusal of any biologic, vaccine, pharmaceutical, drug, gene editing technology, RNA-based product, or DNA-based product.

• Deny employment to the individual or terminate the individual’s employment
• Deny a service, including a public service, to the individual
• Deny the individual access to commerce
• Segregate the individual
• Penalize the individual or use financial coercion against the individual
• Treat the individual differently than an individual who accepted the medical intervention.

If an individual believes that a violation has occurred, the individual may petition a court for injunctive relief or bring a private civil action for monetary damages in a court.

HB 319 is especially important given the continued pressure to mandate vaccines, including Covid-19 injections, even though the shots are experimental, have been fast-tracked, and carry a high rate of side effects. 

This terrific bill was introduced on 11-8-23 and referred to the Health Provider Services Committee on 11-14-23.

“My name is ____ and I live in (town).  I am asking Representative ____ to support H.B. 319, which would prohibit discrimination for refusing medical interventions, including vaccines.

Citizens must always have the fundamental and unalienable rights to bodily autonomy and informed consent.  It is essential that everyone possesses the autonomy to decline or retract consent at any stage of their health journey without encountering undue pressure or coercion.

For example, we saw too many people lose their jobs for refusing a Covid shot even though there have been no long-term studies on the safety of these shots.  

Covid shots are an experimental substance that can cause serious side effects.  As of 10/27/23, 2,543,974 injuries and 36,501 deaths have been reported in connection with the Covid shots to the CDC’s Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System (VAERS) — and it is estimated that only 1-10 percent of adverse reactions are ever reported.  And yet, the manufacturers are shielded from liability for any harm they cause. 

Vaccine mandates are justified by the idea of the “greater good” and protecting others.  But no individual should be forced to take a medical treatment for someone else’s benefit.

I urge Representative _____to SUPPORT H.B. 319, and to help it move as quickly as possible.”

Talking Points:

Keep your call or email short!  Pick the 2 or 3 of these talking points – or none of them — that are most important to you, and be sure to explain why this issue matters to you personally.

1. Share why this is personal to you.  Do you have philosophical or religious beliefs that conflict with vaccination?  Have you or someone you know had a vaccine reaction?

• No one knows in advance whom a vaccine will harm.  Each of us may respond differently as we have different medical histories, genes, epigenetics, and microbiomes.

1. One of the most basic human rights is that of bodily autonomy, as recognized by the Nuremberg Code.  Ethical medicine requires prior, completely voluntary, and fully informed consent.

• Vaccines are medical procedures that carry the risk of serious injury.  The U.S. Supreme Court recognizes vaccines to be “unavoidably unsafe” and to cause injury and death to some recipients.  The U.S. Government has paid out $4.9 billion to the victims of vaccine injury.  http://www.cdc.gov/vaccinesafety/ensuringsafety/monitoring/vaers/

• Vaccines have no long-term studies on their safety, genotoxicity, carcinogenicity, or effect on reproduction.

• Covid-19 vaccine manufacturers and providers are shielded from liability through the Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness Act, or PREP Act. The only option for compensating people injured by COVID-19 vaccines is the Countermeasures Injury Compensation Program (CICP).  Only eight percent of all petitioners since 2010 have been awarded compensation through the CICP.  No legal or medical expert fees are covered, no pain and suffering is awarded, lost wages are capped at $50,000, and there is no judicial appeal. In other words, the victims will be severely undercompensated while the pharmaceutical companies get rich.

• There have been 2,543,974 Covid-19 shot adverse events and 36,501 Covid-19 shot deaths reported in the U.S. to the Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System (per data released 10/27/23).

• Vaccine manufacturers such as Pfizer, Merck, and GlaxoSmithKline have paid billions of dollars in criminal penalties and settlements for research fraud, faking drug safety studies, failing to report safety problems, bribery, kickbacks, and false advertising [1,2].  Pfizer paid $2.3 billion in 2009 alone to resolve criminal and civil allegations [3].
