Two wins! The amendments to make country of origin labeling (COOL) voluntary and to exempt factory farms from certain environmental laws both failed to make it into the Congressional spending bill this week. Many of you sent email and called your representatives over these issues, and we think it made a huge difference!
Thank you to all!
These amendments would have made it more difficult to know where food comes from, and to protect our communities against the pollution of factory farms.
We will have to continue to be vocal, as it’s likely these amendments will be introduced as legislation in the next Congressional session.
Thank you again.
