The Family Cow Project

A Ripe Opportunity
Summary
The Family Cow Project is just finishing its first year of business and is looking for any and all parties interested in carrying it on. This opportunity is being made available because the owner, Peter Bradrick, is leaving to work with a ministry (Vision Forum) in San Antonio Texas, and the rest of his family is involved in various endeavors and are unable to carry it on.
Overview
The Family Cow Project is a small grass-based, herd share dairy operated in Montesano, Washington. Currently milking four jerseys, it has a waiting list and large growth opportunities. Customers purchase a share in the herd for $10 and then pay a $16 per month per share maintenance fee. When customers purchase a share they are assigned a day on which to pick up their milk. Customers come to the milkhouse on the day assigned to them, where they find a gallon jar for every share that they own behind a wooden plaque with their name on it.
Statistics
This business was begun at the beginning of August 2003. The current gross monthly income is $1600. This figure could be quickly doubled or quadrupled if the current growth potential was taken advantage of. There are approximately 100 shares sold in the cattle herd, and around 60 weekly customers. If no one is found to take over the business it will be closed on the first week of October 2004.
