Virginia bills to mandate meningococcal vaccines for elementary school children are now dead.
We recently sent out an action alert about a Virginia bill (HB 1533) that would require all school children to get the meningococcal vaccine (MCV4) before sixth grade.
Thanks to the voices of people like you, a majority of the members of the House Subcommittee on Health, Welfare, and Institutions voted AGAINST the bill, and the Senate sponsor withdrew the companion bill (SB 1519). These bills are officially dead.
Way to go Virginia!
Because of grassroots efforts, many of the more than 100 vaccine bills introduced across the nation last year were defeated. We here at The Weston A. Price Foundation want to THANK YOU for the tremendous work you do as activists!
While we celebrate this victory in Virginia, the fight is far from over. Many other bills have been introduced across the country that threaten vaccine exemption and increase mandates. We must continue our efforts to stop these attacks on bodily autonomy and health freedom.
We will continue to bring you Urgent Action Alerts and we encourage you to join us as we work together to make a difference. Remember, vaccine exemption laws are state laws, so it’s important you fight for your state. Your phone calls, emails, letters, meetings with legislators, and physical appearances at hearings make all the difference.
To see a list of Weston A. Price Foundation action alerts that let you know what is going on federally and in your state or region regarding vaccines as well as food, farming, and other health freedoms visit: http://www.westonaprice.org/action-alerts/
Together we can work to safeguard vaccine exemptions, prevent poor rules and regulations regarding vaccine policy, and continue to have a positive impact on protecting rights to make informed vaccine choices for our families and ourselves.
