WISE TRADITIONS 2009
10th ANNUAL CONFERENCE
MONDAY ACTIVITIES
JAIMEN MCMILLAN WORKSHOP ON MOVEMENT THERAPY
9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
FEE: $85, includes lunch
The Weston A. Price Foundation is proud to present a workshop by Jaimen McMillan, founder of Spacial Dynamics, as part of Wise Traditions 2009, its 10th annual conference.
Have you ever felt stuck in your body? Does stress, strain or pain keep you re-strained? Do you sometimes feel that your age or your ailments are beginning to determine your moods and ability to be in motion? In this course participants will move, play and laugh their way towards greater health. Participants in any physical condition will benefit greatly from this inclusive approach which embraces our surrounding spaces. They will experience the supportive effects of dynamic posture, the healing ease of graceful exercise, and the unbounded joy of learning to move again with the simplicity of a child. This course will move you, and participants will never look at their body or space in the same way again.
McMillan built on his experiences as a master fencer and his trainings in psychology and physiotherapy to develop Spacial Dynamics(R), an approach to movement therapy and movement education that is practiced in over 30 countries around the world. He was co-director of the Bothmer Schule, an international gymnastics school, in Stuttgart, Germany for 21 years. He lectures throughout the world on the topics of well-being and movement, is a regular contributor to health and educational journals, and co-author of the book, The Fourfold Path to Healing, together with Dr. Tom Cowan and Sally Fallon Morell.
McMillan directs training programs worldwide and has pioneered the global “Hands in Peace” festivals for children from conflict areas. Mr. McMillan is the founder and director of the Spacial Dynamics Institute, an international center in up-state New York which trains therapists and educators. MEADOW HAVEN FARM
17380 575 E. Street-Sheffield, IL 61361
Meadow Haven Farm was started by Allan and Jeanne Sexton. Allan, a retired holistic veterinarian who has a life-long interest in nutrition and health, decided the only way to really produce good healthy food for their five children and now eleven grandchildren was to produce it himself.
Allan and Jeanne searched for the best farmland they could find for their idea of an organic farm that would raise grass-fed, grass-finished beef, pastured organic chickens and eggs, as well as Allan’s large garden and orchard. They found it in Bureau County, Illinois, about two hours west of Chicago. Jeremy and Cherie House joined them a few years after. Jeremy farmed and ran a dairy with his father, and Cherie was a junior high school physical education teacher and coach before having a son and “retiring” to the farm to help raise all the pastured poultry and add lambs and goats to the mix We are all committed to the idea of food that is not only organic, but highly nutritious, rich in minerals, vitamins and other nutrients. We are constantly working to enhance and re-mineralize the soils that feed the plants that feed the animals that feed you, the consumer.
On our certified organic pastures, we raise 100% grass-fed beef, organic pastured chickens, turkeys, ducks and eggs..
