Raw milk consumption from a European perspective: state of the art of the latest insights on raw milk studies in relation to asthma, allergies and atopic disorders.
Consumption of raw milk and raw milk products during pregnancy by the mother as well in early life by the child strongly reduces the presence of asthma and allergies in the newborn. Although strict hygienically produced raw milk meant for direct consumption is sold legally in several European countries, scientists and official health bodies advise that raw milk should be avoided by young children, pregnant women and elderly people who have a weakened immune system. This advice is counterproductive and based on the assumption that zero risks exist in life. The answer is to develop analytical methods which differentiate raw milk quality, its bacteriology and its origin.

The Healing Power of Broth: The History and Science
A South American proverb claims “Good broth will resurrect the dead.” While that’s a bit of an exaggeration, chicken soup has long enjoyed a reputation as “Jewish penicillin” and healing soups are served to convalescents around the world. In the 19th century gelatin (the chief constituent of broth) was even considered a superfood that could be cheaply manufactured to feed soldiers at war, disaster victims and the poor. Researchers from the late 19th and early 20th centuries proved its efficacy in healing allergies, asthma, osteoarthritis, IBS, Crohn’s and other inflammatory diseases and disorders. Today broth is widely used for gut healing as part of the GAPS diet and other protocols used to reverse autism. Modern scientists have investigated separate components of broth, including collagen, cartilage, hyaluronic acid, and the conditionally essential amino acids glycine, proline and glutamine. Research by the late John F. Prudden MD, DSci, on the effect of bovine tracheal cartilage on arthritis, autoimmune disorders, wound healing and cancer has been particularly impressive.

Nutrient Declines Caused by High-Yield Crop Varieties and Intense Cultivation
We will review growing evidence that ongoing increases in crop yields per acre have the unintended consequence of decreasing concentrations of nutrients, especially minerals. The nutrient declines are caused primarily by what is called the “dilution effect.” It occurs whenever a plant can more easily add bulk than it can absorb additional minerals or make extra vitamins and other nutrients. The increased bulk dilutes nutrient concentrations, so we must eat more food and calories to obtain the same nutrients. Agricultural scientists discovered the diluting effect of fertilizers decades ago and frequently cite it, but it is surprisingly unknown to others. Recently, a new kind of dilution effect has been found, a “genetic dilution effect” in which increased yield comes from selective breeding or hybridization. So far it is proven in wheat, corn, and broccoli. High-yield, “green revolution” wheat varieties introduced in the 1960s show 25% to 50% declines in most minerals. Since 1950 broccoli head size and yield have increased, but mineral concentrations have broadly declined. Several studies of historical nutrient content data in vegetables and fruits show median declines of 5% to 40% over about 50 years, affecting about half of studied nutrients (minerals, protein, and vitamins). Further increases in crop yields are widely touted as a means to feed a burgeoning world population, despite nutrient declines and the fact that yield increases are not a genuine solution to excessive population.

Walk the Talk! Primal Gait for Healthy Living
This talk explores the natural locomotion of our species – the fundamental activity of walking – how it has been adversely altered by modern design and our built environment, and how it may be restored.
In modern industrial societies, families have become geographically dispersed. This has resulted in an absence of cultural support and patterning. The kinesthetic patterns of walking need physical proximity and repeated visual cueing to be acquired. When the ancestral line is broken, the disconnected generation is more likely to be (literally) shaped by the twentieth century developments of mass media culture and mass-produced consumer goods. After World War I, fashions in clothing and furniture converged to bring about a cultural evolution in the human figure. Traditional standing posture, tall but relaxed, was redefined as stiff and passé, and in the name of comfort and ease the fashions of the day promoted a collapsed spine which resulted in rounded shoulders and a tucked pelvis.
Such modern “adaptations” of a balanced, erect posture throw our structure out of alignment and have a detrimental effect on our movement. People unable to sit or stand well are unlikely to be comfortable walking for any distance and in fact are likely to suffer damage to discs, cartilage, bone and soft tissue. Today 85-90% of the population report back pain. Fortunately, the ancient body-wisdom is still found in non-industrial societies, who report an astoundingly low incidence of back and joint pain (5-7%).
This ancestral heritage has formed the blueprint for a highly successful program of postural reeducation developed by the Gokhale Method Institute. In walking, for example, students are taught how to engage the muscles of their feet effectively, despite the tendency of shoes and flat, man-made surfaces to work against this necessary function. They also learn to engage and synchronize buttock muscle action correctly as they walk, so that walking becomes a series of smooth forward propulsions, rather than scuffs or jarring falls.
Our ancestors would not have hunted so successfully or gathered what they needed for survival using the average modern gait. The Gokhale Method gives us the opportunity to regain our structural health and reconnect with our birthright.

When you have the cow you have it all
I will show how we can and should position the cow in current American life. She has no adequate substitute. Your cow is a self-renewing source of superior food. I will demolish the currently fashionable notion that cows produce more CO2 than automobiles and pour methane into the atmosphere. We will discuss the unexpected conflation of vegan philosophy with agribusiness monoculture. I will explore the role of raw milk and colostrum in the prevention or relief of many conditions including skin disorders, obesity, C. difficile, arthritis, and the common cold.
I will describe current research on A2 milk, and the importance of raw milk for all mammalian babies. With raw milk from a pastured cow available there is no need to destroy Asian forests for coconut oil or to buy high-priced imported berries for vitamin C. Raw milk has it all. We will explore the pros and cons of family cows vs. goats and other dairy animals and the practical considerations involved.

Illinois Prisoners do ‘Hard Time’ on Soy and Water
What do Barack Obama, Rod Blagojevich, Monsanto, Archer Daniel Midlands, the University of Illinois,the Weston A. Price Foundation, and all prisoners in the Illinois prison system have in common? Soy. The U.S. farm bill funds the production of a heck of a lot of genetically modified (GM) soy requiring Roundup Ready, a toxic herbicide produced by Monsanto. Creative marketing has come up with many ways to use the excess GM soy by targeting every sector of the U.S. population–from infants consuming soy formula, to school children eating soy at school lunches, to the general population consuming many processed foods containing soy (even tea bags), even to prisoners whose diet is 40% or more soy.
Rod Blagojevich, former governor of Illinois, now in federal prison himself, began a human experiment when he decided to lower the cost of prison food by extending the menu with soy. Illinois is the headquarters of Archer Daniel Midlands, a wealthy company which heavily promotes and sells soy products. The University of Illinois has a soy center dedicated to developing recipes using soy for institutional and personal consumption. In addition to paying for the soy, the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) uses prison labor to manufacture and cook the soy entrees that are served at every meal.
The Weston A. Price Foundation is supporting medical testing and a law suit which ill prisoners have filed against IDOC and Wexford Health Systems. Prisoners have become extremely ill on the daily ration of soy and their health problems have been deliberately ignored by the prison medical personnel. Prison doctors and the supervising dietitian, in their depositions, have testified that they know little about soy and its harmful anti-nutrient effects. Sulfur: It Does the Body Good!
The Western world faces an ever-increasing burden of debilitating, potentially life-threatening, conditions and diseases, such as diabetes, heart disease, obesity, Alzheimer’s, autism, depression, arthritis, chronic lung disease, gastrointestinal disorders and pneumonia. Dr. Seneff’s extensive research into the underlying cause of these problems has revealed that all of them can be traced to a severe deficiency in sulfur and, most especially, sulfate throughout the vasculature and the tissues. The sulfate anion (SO4-2) plays an essential role in maintaining blood stability, as well as promoting electrolyte and nutrient transport across the membranes of all the cells. However, it is challenging to maintain adequate supplies of sulfur in the face of modern agricultural practices and food processing methods. Irrational fears of cancer have caused us to avoid sunlight exposure, further compounding the problem. This all-day talk will discuss all the various aspects of this issue, including the underlying biology, as well as the reasons why we are in this unfortunate state and how we can fix the problem.
