Help stop a bad vaccine bill in the Ohio legislature!

The Ohio Legislature is considering a bill that would allow podiatrists, who specialize in treating people’s feet, to administer flu vaccines to anyone seven years and older.

This creates significant risks for both children and adults. Podiatrists are not qualified to recognize or handle serious adverse reactions, nor are they likely to have full knowledge of patient or family history. How many people will assume that it must be safe if a podiatrist is allowed to give it, only to have an adverse reaction?

TAKE ACTION:

Contact your Ohio State Senator and ask him/her to OPPPOSE S.B. 178. You can find out who represents you at: https://www.legislature.ohio.gov/legislators/find-my-legislators

Calls are more effective than emails, and only take a few minutes.

Sample script:

“Hi, my name is ____ and I am a constituent. I am calling to ask Senator ______ to OPPOSE S.B. 178, which would allow podiatrists to give flu vaccines to those seven years and older.

I oppose this bill because both children and adults need their general physician’s care for vaccine administration.

All vaccines may have serious side effects, which podiatrists are not qualified to recognize or treat. This is reckless.

Podiatrists most likely also do not have complete access to a person’s medical history, both in terms of what vaccines they have received already and what medical conditions they may have that place them at a higher risk of having an adverse reaction.

I urge _______ to oppose S.B. 178.”

Federal law recognizes vaccines kill and disable some recipients. These risks depend on a person’s medical history and family history. Podiatrists do not necessarily have knowledge of, nor the time to learn about, a person’s full medical history. This is dangerous.

Vaccine package inserts warn of the risk of brain damage, life-threatening allergy, and death and no one knows in advance whom a vaccine will harm. Podiatrists are not equipped to recognize, nor handle serious adverse vaccine reactions.

The US Supreme Court recognizes vaccines to be “unavoidably unsafe” and to cause injury and death in some recipients. The US government has paid out $4.2 billion dollars to the victims of vaccine injury. Hundreds have reported an adverse reaction to vaccination. Vaccine package inserts warn of the risk of brain damage, life-threatening allergy, and death, additionally, no one knows in advance who will be harmed by a vaccine. It is careless to permit podiatrists to administer a product that carries such risks.
