Depression. Weight gain. Eye problems. Auto-immune conditions. The wrong light can lead to health concerns on a number of fronts. Our computers, cell phones, and indoor lifestyle are jeopardizing our well-being. The blue light, considered “junk light,” emitted from many of our devices interferes with our bodies’ natural functions, throwing our systems out of whack. Dewey Layman, the founder and CEO of L-Dopa, a quantum health consulting company, understands this first-hand. For a time, he worked the night shift at a pizza shop and played video games till the sun came up. His health took a nosedive. He developed myopia and hormone imbalances; he became overweight and depressed. Turning to the sun, literally, helped turn his life and health around. Today he discusses the importance of exposing ourselves to sunlight for energy and health. He also explains what blue light is, the problems it causes for our circadian rhythm, and how we can mitigate its effects in our lives.

- How blue light absent of those color spectrums, like what we see in our screens (phones, computers, televisions, LED light bulbs, compact fluorescent), is not beneficial in large doses, and in fact can cause depression
- How the moon reflects mostly blue light, which can cause issues for some
- The origin of the term “lunatic”
- How extreme exposure to blue light throws off our natural circadian rhythm
- The influence of other non-native, invisible light waves from the spectrum, like microwaves and radio frequencies

Great podcast! Thanks so much for the information and resource links.
Unfortunately Dopa Consulting’s website isnt showing up on any of my browsers and when I do an online search I just get business consulting sites. Is there any other way that I might reach out to Dewey to schedule a consult?
Thanks so much!
