A Public Hearing on AB 453, regarding the sale of unpasteurized milk, will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2005 at 10AM in Room 415 Northwest of the State Capitol, Madison, Wisconsin. If you can attend the hearing, it would be of great help.
Verbal testimony at hearing should not exceed 5 minutes. If you wish to make extensive comments, you can submit written testimony and you should provide at least 10 copies for committee members and committee staff.
Whether you can or cannot attend the public hearing, you are urged you to call, e-mail, or write (this is better as with the volume of e-mails some staff never share e-mails with their bosses) and let the chairman and members of the committee you support AB453.
The e-mail for ALL committee members would be: Rep. (last
name)@legis.state.wi.us. The mailing address for Representatives with last names beginning with A-L is PO Box 8952, State Capitol, Madison, WI 53708 and last names M-Z is PO Box 8953, State Capitol, Madison, WI 53708.
Committee Members are: J.A Hines, Chair; Greg Underheim, Vice-Chair; Members: John Townsend, Steve Freese, Terri McCormick, Sheldon Wasserman, Tamara Grigsby, and Chuck Benedict. Phone numbers for committee members are listed below.
J.A. Hines, Chair: (608) 266-7746

You should stress that ALL GRADE A standards must be adhered to, a liability provision is included, and just as required for unpasteurized apple cider and fruit juices a warning label is required.
Enactment of AB453 will be an uphill battle, BUT by working together WE can succeed!
