With most state legislatures out of session, now is an excellent time to contact your state representatives and senators about vaccine safety, informed consent and parental rights.
When legislators are in session, their schedules are packed with committee hearings, meetings and votes. Between sessions, they may have more time to meet with constituents, listen to concerns, review research and consider legislation for the coming year.
Many states will begin their 2027 legislative sessions in January. This is an opportunity to establish relationships with your elected officials before new bills are introduced.
Your legislators need to hear from you about the importance of rigorous vaccine safety research, independent scientific oversight, medical freedom and the right to make informed healthcare decisions without coercion.
The November 3 election is also an opportunity to learn where candidates stand on these issues and make your voice heard at the ballot box.
TAKE ACTION
Contact your state representative and state senator and request a meeting to discuss vaccine safety, informed consent and health freedom before the 2027 legislative session begins.
You can find your state legislators here:

Phone calls are most effective. Respectful emails help too. If possible, arrange an in-person meeting at your legislator’s district office.
Ask your legislators about their positions on vaccine requirements, medical and religious exemptions, informed consent and independent vaccine safety research. Find out whether they anticipate introducing or supporting vaccine-related legislation in 2027.
Remember to vote on November 3! Research candidates’ positions on medical freedom, parental rights and vaccine safety, and make an informed decision about which candidates reflect your priorities.

SAMPLE SCRIPT
“Hello, my name is ______, and I live in ______.
I’m contacting Representative/Senator ______ to request a brief meeting about vaccine safety, informed consent and parental rights before the 2027 legislative session begins.
I am concerned about the expanding childhood vaccination schedule, the need for independent long-term safety research and policies that may limit families’ ability to make their own medical decisions.
I would appreciate the opportunity to share information and learn where you stand on protecting vaccine exemptions, supporting informed consent and ensuring that vaccine recommendations are based on rigorous, independent scientific research.
I would also like to know whether you anticipate any vaccine-related legislation in the coming session.
Thank you for your time. I look forward to hearing from you.”
TALKING POINTS
Keep your conversations short and focused. Choose the two or three talking points that matter most to you, and explain why these issues are important to your family. You do not need to cover every point in one meeting.
- Vaccines can cause serious injuries.Β The federal government recognizes that vaccines can cause harm, and the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program has awarded billions of dollars in compensation for vaccine-related injuries and deaths. Legislators should understand that vaccine safety is an important concern for families.
- Millions of adverse events following vaccination have been reported to VAERS.Β The federal Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System has received reports involving hospitalizations, disabilities and deaths following vaccination. Although reports do not establish that a vaccine caused an injury, they can identify potential safety signals that warrant investigation.
- The cumulative effects of the childhood vaccination schedule deserve greater scientific scrutiny.Β Children receive numerous vaccine doses throughout infancy and childhood. Research should address questions about simultaneous administration, repeated exposures and long-term health outcomes, rather than evaluating each vaccine only in isolation.
- Vaccine ingredients should be independently evaluated.Β Vaccines contain a host of neurotoxic ingredients, including aluminum adjuvants, stabilizers, preservatives and residual manufacturing substances. Legislators can support transparent research into their safety, including the potential effects of repeated exposure in infants and young children.
- Long-term vaccine safety research should be a priority.Β Studies should be designed to investigate possible relationships between vaccination and chronic illnesses, autoimmune conditions, neurological disorders and other health outcomes.
- Conflicts of interest undermine public confidence.Β Individuals serving on vaccine advisory committees should have appropriate scientific qualifications and disclose financial relationships with vaccine manufacturers. Families deserve independent evaluations of vaccine safety and transparent explanations of public health recommendations.
- Parents should have access to complete information before making medical decisions for their children. Informed consent requires a meaningful discussion of known risks, contraindications and scientific uncertainties. Families should be able to ask questions and make healthcare decisions without inappropriate pressure.
- State vaccine requirements and exemptions deserve legislative oversight.Β School vaccination policies can have significant consequences for children and families. Legislators should understand how their state’s requirements are established, how exemptions operate and whether proposed changes will affect school attendance or access to education.
- State vaccine policies may differ from federal recommendations.Β Some states are adopting vaccine recommendations from sources other than the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP). Legislators should examine who is establishing their state’s policies, what evidence is being considered and whether changes require legislative approval.
